Sumter County deputies arrest man for burglaries, attempted robbery
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) —
Sumter County deputies arrested a man Thursday after he broke into two stores and attempted to rob another within the past two weeks.
On October 8, Zachary Nathan Williams broke into a store on U.S. Highway 15, stealing cigarettes, cigars, beer, and other items totaling $2,250.
Williams broke into the Piggly Wiggly at 1455 South Guignard Drive on October 13. There, he stole cigarettes and a canvas shopping bag, all valued at $510. The following night, Williams attempted to rob the Food Lion on U.S. Highway 15.
Deputies identified and located Williams after calls came in. The tips stemmed from the Sumter County Sheriff's Office posting the surveillance video from the attempted robbery on social media.
Williams faces two charges of first-degree burglary and one charge of attempted robbery.
