Columbia (WACH) -- If you`re hitting the road last minute to join family and friends for Thanksgivng, the weather should not be a problem.
Whether you`re driving on I-20 to Atlanta, I-95 north or south, I-26 to the Upstate or the Low Country, or I-77 to North Carolina the only think you`ll need is a heater in your car.
Despite abundant sunshine for your Turkey Day, well below average temperatures have settled into the southeast and will hang around for most of your holiday weekend.
Some areas will be flirting with record low temperatures.
In Columbia, the record low for Thursday is 22 degrees and we are forecasting a low of 23.
While low temperatures will remain in the 20s through the first half of the holiday weekend, highs will return to the 50s by Friday.
