"We have a long way to go yet, but this is an important step in the right direction not only in helping ease our grief but in making sure that this individual can never hurt another family the way he has ours. We would also like to thank the people of Charlotte and Columbia and all those who have offered their prayers and support throughout this ordeal. Your kindness has been a source of strength for us all and we are eternally grateful.â??
