COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Richard Patterson, 26, who is charged with two counts of attempted murder.

On Wednesday morning, March 19, RCSD investigators arrest Patterson at an area hospital after questioning witnesses and following up on significant leads.

Around 4AM at the MoBay Caribbean Restaurant Bar and Grill, deputies responded to shots fired at the location.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that there was a verbal altercation that became physical with multiple patrons inside the business. Security officers dispersed the crowd and moved them outdoors.

Patterson rushed over to the victimâ??s vehicle at which time a struggle ensued for a handgun was trying to pull out. Patterson then took the gun away and shot the victim in the lower body.
