COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? The attorney for Stephen Kelly, the suspect in the Briana Rabon murder in Kershaw County, has waived the bond hearing.
Kelly will remain in custody until trial.
No trial date has been set.
In a press conference Saturday morning, Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews says he's 100% confident Stephen Kelly killed Briana Rabon.
Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews says Kelly has admitted to being with Rabon the night she was killed and investigators "found considerable evidence inside 21 year-old Kelly's car".
"We had arrested him last year for criminal domestic violence. He beat up his girlfriend and he was also arrested for burglarizing a home and stealing somebody's truck." explains Matthews.
Matthews says 18 year-old Briana Rabon's body was found a half mile from Kelly's house. Sheriff Matthews says surveillance video from a gas station helped lead deputies to Kelly.
Briana was laid to rest at Sawney's Creek Baptist Church in Ridgeway on Sunday.
