Suspects arrested in 88-year-old sexual assault/home invasion

Authorities investigate scene where police chase ends on Shorecrest Drive.

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The Columbia Police Department has arrested two suspects they say were involved in a home invasion and sexual assault of an 88-year-old woman that happened in the Rosewood neighborhood Thursday morning.

Officials say two brothers broke into the victim's residence on Deerwood Street and stole several items, including her car. The woman was also sexually assaulted, according to police.

Investigators later found 24-year-old Anthony Deon Kelley and 23-year-old William Albert Kelley driving the stolen vehicle and a chase began.

The two brothers were eventually taken into custody on Shorecrest Drive near Bluff Road and are being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

The woman is recovering in the hospital.
