Tea Party protests Biden/Spratt at fundraiser

COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Protesters with the Tea Party rallied outside of a fundraiser for U.S. Representative John Spratt Thursday.

The event was attended by Vice President Joe Biden, who was in town for a library dedication ceremony.

The crowd braved the heat to make their point.

They say they've had enough with Washington Liberals who've created the mess the country is in.

"This is everyday citizens who are tired who are tired of waste in Washington, who are tired of our representatives who aren't listening to us," says William Stallings of Americans for Limited Government.

"We've had it!" adds Raymond Moore with the Columbia Tea Party. "We're not racist, we're not tea baggers, we're not mobs. We're moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas and we're fed up. We want our country back."

Spratt is running against Republican Mick Mulvaney in the November election.
