Emily Abbata is a Lexington High School senior who has a heart for others.
"My senior project I organized the donation drive at Saxe Agotha and people donated like anything that you could think of that a mom would need."
Emily reached out to the non-profit on her own because she says, "I really love kids so its a really big thing to me and just helping other people out."
This Teen to Wach is not only excelling in school but she has a pretty big task outside of school.
"I work at chick fil a so that keeps me really busy most of the time between school and work."
And her mom says emily is already taking the initiative to be successful in the future
"She's very responsible with her job," says Mrs. Abbata "and with her time and with her money, she's saving for school, she's saved enough to buy herself a car."
So how does a high school senior manage to work and do so well academically?
"You set specific days that you know you need to do something before you know that the project is due or the test is coming up so that way you have time to get it all done."
After high school Emily plans to attend Winthrop University and study Elementary Education.
She has this advice for her peers, "stay motivated, stick up for what you believe in, be who you are and just don't fall into peer pressure."
Emily is a great role model for living drug, alcohol and tobacco free.
