The 132nd Military Police Company returns home

More than 40 soldiers with the South Carolina National Guard's 132nd Military Police Company were welcomed home from a nine-month deployment to Kosovo.

SPRINGDALE, SOUTH CAROLINA (WACH)- More than 40 soldiers with the South Carolina National Guard's 132nd Military Police Company were welcomed home from a nine-month deployment to Kosovo.

Family and friends gathered in a homecoming ceremony, as soldiers marched into the South Carolina Army National Guard.

Working with local security, the unit left in May of 2012 to help maintain a safe and secure environment for Kosovo institutions.

Lt. Col. Stanley O'neal says there was a request for volunteers to go serve in Kosovo over a year ago.

"These men and women standing before you today stood up and took the challenge," said O'neal.

The South Carolina National Guard comprises more than 10,000 soldiers and airmen who serve their state and nation.
