The heat returns back to the Midlands

Columbia (WACH) â?? Bertha has been downgraded back to a Tropical Storm and the heat returns to the Midlands.

After several days of below average temperatures the heat is back on today and will continue through this week. A stationary front that has been stalled along the coast will retreat out into the ocean, while pulling the moisture with it. That will allow for some drier air to enter the Midlands which will keep rain chances down today. Weâ??re expecting another dry day on Wednesday and thatâ??s when our dew point temperatures will drop slightly. While the 90 degree temperatures will continue tomorrow, we wonâ??t have to deal with as much humidity.

Bertha became the second Hurricane of the season yesterday, but as of 5:00 this morning, it has been downgraded back to a Tropical Storm. Bertha is expected to continue moving up the east coast of the United States and poses no threat to us.
