      Third arrest made in September McDonald's shooting

      Rayski Walters, 23, is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Pistol, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Crime, and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

      COLUMBIA (WACH) - Police have made another arrest in connection with a September shooting at a Two Notch Road McDonald's restaurant. Rayski Walters, 23, is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Pistol, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Crime, and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.Walters is accused of being at the incident location at the time of the shooting.

      Torance Lamar Peoples was previously charged with Seven Counts of Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Violent Crime and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Conveyance.

      Terrell Lamont Bethel was previously charged with Seven Counts of Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Conveyance, Drug Possession and Failure to Stop on Police Command.

      On Saturday, September 15 shortly after 9 p.m., police say Peoples and Bethel fired a gun into a crowd at the McDonald??s restaurant located at 2911 Two Notch Road.Preliminary information suggests that Peoples and Bethel were a part of at least two groups that were arguing in the parking lot.

      Three people were hit by bullets.

      Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says 20-year-old Steve McCoy of Elgin was killed in the shooting. An autopsy confirmed McCoy died from complications of a gunshot wound to the head.

      The other victims were shot in the arm and hip. Police believed the groups were involved in a verbal and physical altercation that resulted in a shooting.

      CPD are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting.

      More arrests are pending.
