Three Richland County Sheriff Deputies involved in officer-involved shooting

COLUMBIA (WACH)-- The suspect in this morning's officer involved shooting has been arrested.
Ty-Meek Tyheen Tayne ,21, was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Drug Charges.
The shooting happened on Tuesday morning near Broad River Road and I-20.
According to Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, deputies were acting on tips of a drug dealer in an apartment community of Broad River Rd.
"We've built up a relationship with the community, they know that they can trust us. They know that they can pull in a call directly to me and they're going to get some results," says Lott.
Lott says Tuesday morning, deputies tried to stop a suspect they had under surveillance. The suspect drove towards a deputy and they shot at the suspect because the suspect was trying to run a deputy over.
Lott says the suspect was shot in the forearm.
According to Sheriff Lott, investigators found drugs marijuana and a gun at the scene. Richland County Sheriff's Department Investigators continue to investigate.
No deputies were injured in Tuesday's shooting.
