Columbia (WACH) â?? The humidity returns to our forecast today and that will help with an increase in rain chances. However, despite the muggy conditions, our temperatures remain below normal.
After two great days of almost perfect weather, we will see a change in the weather pattern today. We have many dynamics working together to help increase our rain chances. Winds have shifted direction, the front that came through Monday is moving back to the north, and weâ??ve got a disturbance in the upper levels of the atmosphere. This pattern will likely not create the typical summer storms that form in the afternoon and dissipate in the evening. Instead, weâ??ll see an increase in cloud coverage along with showers lingering overnight. The bright side to all of this is that our temperatures today will stay down in the 80â??s. Be sure to check out the video forecast above.
Weâ??re continuing to watch the Tropics as Invest 93-L still hangs out in the Atlantic Ocean. Located about 650 miles east of the southern Windward Islands, the system is moving west-northwest at 20mph. The invest has been producing organized thunderstorm activity and has a 70% chance of Tropical formation over the next two days. If the storm becomes named, it would be called Bertha. A Hurricane Hunter is scheduled to fly out to the storm this afternoon.
