KERSHAW COUNTY (WACH) - A third man has been arrested in connection with a 2011 home invasion after deputies say they received a tip.
Fredrick Beaufort, 39, was arrested Saturday and is charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and kidnapping. He is being detained at the Kershaw County Detention Center, according to sheriff's office officials.
â??We routinely act on citizen tips and this is another case where a citizen knew we were looking for this violent criminal and called us. Beaufort is finally off the street and hopefully will not make bond,â?? said Sheriff Jim Matthews. â??He is certainly a danger to the community and a flight risk.â??
In this case, deputies received a tip that Beaufort was running Pazazz, a club in East Camden. Deputies arrested Beaufort after the club was closed. Deputies believed Beaufort was hiding in New York until they received the tip.
Authorities say Beaufort is accused, along with Jarvis Jones and Marcus Greene, of kicking in the door of a home on Denton Street in East Camden in August 2011. After robbing a couple at the home, three suspects fled. Jones was arrested at the scene and Greene was arrested "at a later time." Jones received a 5 years sentence, which was suspended to 3 years probation. Greene is serving a 15 year prison sentence.
