Classes for University of South Carolina students begin today after Winter Break. It will also be a new start for students becoming a gamecock for the first time this semster.

Sheheen Speaks-Today, Senator Vincent Sheheen will speak at a Midlands school. The senator will address students and teachers at River Bluff High School in Lexington. This is part of the "Politics in the Palmetto State" speakers series.

Senator Scott Roundtable-Monday afternoon, U.S Senator Tim Scott visits Lexington County to talk about his opportunity agenda with local leaders. Scott will host a roundtable at the Brookland Lakeview Empowerment Center from noon until 1 p.m.

Water Woes-Carolina Water Service, Inc. has filed an application to raise rates by 25 percent. This would affect customers in Gaston, Irmo, Lexington and West Columbia.
