Flu cases in South Carolina: 41 people have died in the state so far, all thanks to the flu. Department of Health and Environmental Control officials releasing those numbers through Monday. They stress the importance of keeping yourself safe and getting the necessary healthcare.

South Carolina newborn test: Newborn babies will get tested for what's known as "Bubble Boy" Disease. DHECâ??s director says 19 other states already test for the set of genetic disorders that cause immune system defects. An affected baby is at risk for infection but can be treated with a bone marrow transplant if diagnosed within a few weeks of birth.

Jobs in Clarendon County: 175 new jobs are coming to Clarendon County. Bicycle maker Kent international is building a new plant there. The company will invest almost four and half million dollars in the facility. Kent is also a major supplier to Toys R Us, Amazon and Academy Sporting Goods. No word on when the company will start hiring.

Senator has gun giveaway: State Senator Lee Bright's campaign for U.S Senate is giving away a rifle. Bright sent an email to supporters encouraging them to sign up to win an AR-15 from Palmetto State Armory. He also asked for donations for his republican primary challenge against Lindsey Graham.
