Flu Cases- South carolina reported eight more flu deaths last week, bringing this season's death toll from the illness to 49. The Department of Health and Environmental Control said all 8 who died last week were adults. All but two of the flu deaths in South Carolina have been in adults.

Child ID Kit-A child identification fair is planned for Saturday the Irmo Municipal Court. Members of the Irmo Police Department and members of Boy Scout Troop 380 will have id kits for kids, safety education and more. The event starts at 10 a.m.

Bank of America-Bank of America may have to pay up some major bucks. The Justice Department wants Bank of America to pay $2.1 billion in penalties for knowingly selling bad home loans to mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The request is based on its total revenue from the fraud instead of the profit it made. Bank of America says that would be too much.

Wrestlers Unite-Midlands wrestlers prepare to hit the mat. The Region II 2A Wrestling Regional Championship kicks off Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. Competitors from Columbia, Eau Claire, Keenan, North Central and Pelion High Schools will meet at the George Glymp Arena. Tickets are $7.
