Tree Trimming: SCDOT says removal of trees along highways is saving lives

The South Carolina Department of Transportation says removing trees from highway medians has reduced the number of people killed in car accidents.
Trees were removed within 50 feet of the pavement of I-385 when the highway was rebuilt several years ago and reduced the amount of crashes by 75% and deaths by 100%, according to a five year study.
