Myrtle Beach police are searching for a person who apparently drove their truck into the ocean early Friday morning.
Fri, 16 May 2014 14:56:52 GMT — MYRTLE BEACH (WPDE) - Myrtle Beach police have charged a man with driving a vehicle on the beach after they found a Chevy 2500 pick up truck, still running, in the ocean Friday morning, according to Cpt. David Knipes, Myrtle Beach Police. Reagan Prince, 23, is charged with Vehicles Prohibited To Drive On Beach Or Public Marsh. Officers were called to the beach at 4th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard, behind the Westgate Ocean Front Resort at about 2:30 a.m. When police arrived, the truck was in the surf with the engine running, but they say Prince had left the scene. A tow truck got stuck trying to pull the truck free, but the driver was eventually able to get his own rig and the truck off the beach. Prince was visiting with his brother, who owned the truck, Cpt. Knipes said, and Prince took the truck and ended up in the surf. For more on this story visit our sister station WPDE.
