CONWAY, SC (WACH) The Federal Aviation Administration says a private twin-engine aircraft with three people onboard has crashed near a subdivision in Conway.
FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the Beechcraft BE55 Baron was attempting to return to Conway-Horry County Airport shortly after departure Saturday afternoon when it crashed.
Bergen said the aircraft was destroyed. There was no immediate word on the fate of the passengers, and there was no answer to a phone call to the Horry County Coroner's office.
Kirk Lovell, marketing director for Horry County Department of Airports, said the aircraft clipped some electrical wires when it went down, cutting power to the area.
