Twin engine aircraft crashes in Conway

COLUMBIA (WACH) The private twin-engine aircraft that crashed in Conway killed all three on board. Pilot James Major, 39 of Conway, Kenneth Piuma, 42 from the Myrtle Beach area and 16 year old Donald Becker from Conway. Horry County Coroner Derris Fowler said all three died at the scene and a required autopsy will be performed on James Major.

FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the Beechcraft BE55 Baron was attempting to return to Conway-Horry County Airport shortly after departure Saturday afternoon when it crashed. Selena Smalls of the Horry County Sheriff's Dept says they responded to to calls around 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon on Warm Springs Lane and held the scene until the FAA and NTSB arrived.

The aircraft took down some electrical wires when it went down, cutting power to homes and business in the area.
