Two arrested in Springdale for having video poker
SPRINGDALE, SC (WACH)- Two men have been arrested in the Lexington County town of Springdale after Police found a drug and illegal gaming operation.
According to Springdale Police Chief Kevin Cornett, Springdale Police was conducting a two month long investigation in reference to illegal drug activity at a Wattling Road home. Springdale Police, with help from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant for the residence in reference to that drug investigation.
At 8:30 Wednesday morning the two agencies served the search warrant. Once inside officer located eight illegal gaming devices and called for SLED to assist. Officers also located marijuana, prescription narcotics, and cash. The Springdale Police Department seized the eight machines, the marijuana, the pills, and over $3,000 in cash. A Lexington County magistrate has determined that the 8 devices are illegal video gambling devices, which are subject to seizure by law enforcement.
Springdale Police Department has arrested Darryl S. Taylor, 47, and Gregory Guess, 47. Taylor is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Schedule III Narcotic and Operating a Gaming House. Guess is charged with Possession of Marijuana and Operating a Gaming House. The investigation is still ongoing and other arrests are expected.
