Two arrested, one sought in Orangeburg lawn mower larceny

Orangeburg County (WACH) - Two people have been arrested by the Orangeburg County sheriff's and one man is still being sought in the theft of 51 lawn mowers from a manufacturing plant.
According to Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, An employee of the lawn mower manufacturing facility notified the Sheriffâ??s Office that a trailer containing lawn mowers was missing from a storage site on December 30, 2011.
Danny Davis, 53, and Chiquita Haynes, 29, have been arrested for larceny / grand larceny. Deputies are still searching for 41-year-old Darion Priester.
"Our investigation indicates an employee of the manufacturing facility, notified another employee to retrieve the trailer, who in turn notified a former employee that actually removed the trailer from the storage site. All three individuals have been charged with grand larceny. Fifty one lawn mowers were stolen and to date, we have recovered 21. The lawn mowers are valued at $1,000 each," said Ravenell. "â??Lt. James Shumpert, Sgt. Allen Hunter, and officers from Greenwood and Laurens County Sheriffâ??s Offices worked jointly to make these arrests and recover some of the companyâ??s stolen property.â??
