Two "Bloods" arrested after being caught with marijuana,stolen handgun

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WACH)-- Kershaw County Sheriff's deputies caught two gang members with weed and a stolen handgun in a hotel parking lot Friday.

Just around 10 p.m., a KCSO Narcotics investigator and another deputy were observing activity at the Camden West Inn located on Highway 1 when they observed a silver Honda in the parking lot occupied by two males.

The two deputies who were on foot detected a marijuana smell and noticed two individuals smoking inside of the vehicle.

The deputies asked the two man to exit the vehicle and ultimately searched the Honda.

During the course of the search, deputies seized about five ounces or marijuana and a handgun which was fully loaded and reported stolen out of Darlington County.

The deputies arrested 22-year-old Denzel Dixon and charged him with possession with intent to distribute marijuana after he later admitted that the reason he was at the Camden West Inn was to sell weed.

Michael Gary,26, was charged with possession of a stolen pistol after he admitted that he purchased the gun "on the street."

Subsequent to their arrests it was determined that both men who were wearing red clothing and admitted to being "Bloods."

Gary and Dixon were both transported to the Kershaw County Detention Center.

Dixon has previously been arrested for numerous counts of petty larceny, criminal conspiracy, numerous counts of breaking into motor vehicles, burglary and simple possession or marijuana.

Gary had previously been arrested for numerous counts of burglary, discharging a firearm, assault, and battery of a high and aggravated nature, assault, and battery second degree, malicious injury to personal property, breaking into motor vehicles, simple possession of marijuana and shoplifting.
