ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WACH) – Orangeburg County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for information on the identity of the people who broke into multiple vehicles and stole a work truck.

Investigators were initially alerted early Tuesday morning when a Site Prep employee called 911, saying a work van equipped with GPS was moving. The employee said the truck shouldn’t have been moving at 3 a.m.

Deputies moved toward the last known position of the white work van and spotted it on Shillings Bridge Road.

Unfortunately, they lost sight of the vehicle, but were able to spot it again after it had apparently crashed into a chain link fence. The people inside were not found.

Security video at the Neeses Highway business showed that some time prior to 11 p.m. Monday, two people stole a Site Prep van before crashing it through a fenced area.

Once inside the area, the people broke into several vehicles before stealing a quantity of fuel.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office at 803-534-3550 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
