Sun, 12 Jan 2014 15:14:00 GMT — COLUMBIA (WACH) - On January 11th, Saturday, at approximately 2:05 p.m., officers of the Cayce Department of Public Safety responded to a armed robbery at Carolina Payday Loans located at 1120-A Knox Abbott Drive. Two men entered the business and robbed the establishment at gunpoint prior to fleeing on foot. Both suspects were confronted by officers a short distance from the incident location where one was taken into custody immediately and the other was arrested after a foot pursuit when he was found hiding in a dumpster. Two concerned citizens aided in the capture of the fleeing suspect when they realized that he was trying to elude officers after committing the felonious act. The suspects were identified as the two men depicted in the photograph above. Officers recovered a semi-automatic pistol and money during the ensuing investigation as a result of the robbery. Both men are facing multiple charges and awaiting a bond hearing at the Lexington County Detention Center.
