Two men are in jail, charged with murder by the Clarendon County Law Enforcement.
Sheriff Randy Garrett tells WACH FOX News that 19-year-old Trevor Singleton and 21-year-old Joshua Cummings entered the home of 36-year-old Arvis Williams on Friday, located on Reverend J W Cart Road. Kasheem Lawson was also with Singleton and Cummings during the incident.
Arvis Williams was living there with his girlfriend and their child. When the three men arrived at the house, Williams asked his girlfriend to leave the room with their child. His girlfriend says that after she left the room, she heard a shot.
Sheriff Garrett says Williams received a fatal gunshot wound to the back. During the incident, Lawson was also shot in the leg. He is currently recovering from surgery.
The Sheriff's Department arrested Singleton and Cummings at an apartment complex where they were hiding.
Morris College is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Joshua Cummings is currently a student at the school. Officials say Trevor Singleton was former student there.
The Clarendon County Sheriff's Department is continuing this investigation.
