Two sisters stabbed when an argument escalates into attempted murder

COLUMBIA (WACH) - Officers arrested Eddie Durham, 44 charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a deadly weapon for stabbing two sisters during a fight at an Ensor Avenue home last night.

Durham is accused of using a knife to stab the sister around 9:00 p.m. Saturday night. A person trying to help flagged down a CPD officer immediately after the stabbing. The officer found the knife in Durham's pocket and witnesses at the crime scene provided CPD with valuable information.

Police believe that Durham got into a verbal altercation with one of the victims, and then it turned physical. When the other victim tried to help her sister, she was stabbed. After that, Durham allegedly also stabbed the first sister. Both victims were found outside and were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A judge denied bond for Durham at a court hearing this morning and he remains at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
