Two Sumter High football players accused of sexually assaulting 14-year-old boy

Two Sumter High males have been charged with sexually assualting 14 year old boy

COLUMBIA (WACH) â?? Police continue to investigate the assault that occurred at Sumter High School in Feb. 2013.

In May, the 14 year old male victim reported to the Sumter Police that three subjects assaulted him while in a locker room at Sumter High School.

The victim reports that two subjects held him down while the third subject penetrated him with an unknown object.

The victim identified two of the subjects as Deonte Lowery, 16, and Tiquan Colclough, 16.

Lowery and Colclough were charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor 2nd Degree and Conspiracy.

In a statement released by the Sumter School District, it was stated that the district is taking the nature of the incident very seriously and is cooperating fully with law enforcement. The district is treating the charge as a Category I offense in accordance with the discipline policy.

The students have been suspended pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing, not permitted on school grounds or allowed participation in extra curricular activities.

The third subject has not been identified at this time.
