Two suspects identified in theft of $100,000 worth of jewelry

COLUMBIA (WACH)â??Columbia Police investigatiors are searching for the suspects who stole diamonds worth more than $100,000 out of jewelry store.

Two of the suspects have been identified as Robert Antoine Weathers, 53, and Robin Tracy Nelson, 50.

The pair will be charged with Grand Larceny and Criminal Conspiracy.

The suspects allegedly robbed a jewelry store on Broad River Road on Saturday, June 14.They pretended to be customers an possibly asked employees to see jewelry.

The distraction allegedly allowed Weathers to walk into a restricted area behind the showcases and steal the diamonds from an open safe.

Weathers was seen on surveillance video hiding the diamond tray in his jacket before leaving the store with the other suspects.

Weathers and Nelson are wanted in several states including Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania for allegedly committing similar heists.
