The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a driver they've been searching for in a hit and run has been located.
Mon, 03 Feb 2014 15:05:11 GMT — COLUMBIA (WACH/AP) -- The South Carolina Highway Patrol says a driver they've been searching for in a hit and run has been located. A Highway Patrol spokesperson says the person they believe hit and killed a pedestrian on state Highway 555 near Interstate 77 has contacted law enforcement. The SCHP says the driver called The Richland County Sheriff's Department Monday morning because he thought he hit something. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says the victim died from blunt force injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Watts says they have identified the person but are with holding the victims name until family is contacted. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the victim is a black male who appears to be in his twenties or thirties.
