COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Five political science experts and scholars are slated to appear at the University of South Carolina to discuss the upcoming fall elections.
The race between incumbent Gov. Nikki Haley and challenger Sen. Vincent Sheheen highlights Thursday's talk from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Capstone House. The event is free and open to the public.
The moderator for the discussion is Charles Bierbauer, dean of the College of Mass Communications and Information Studies and former White House correspondent.
The panel includes Scott Buchanan from The Citadel; Scott Huffmon of Winthrop University; Todd Shaw of University of South Carolina; Alissa Warters from Francis Marion University and David Woodard of Clemson University.
Topics include campaign issues and messaging, advertising and new media and the influence of money from outside the state.
