COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Some University of South Carolina retail students want to spread the word that the city that's famously hot is also extremely stylish.
The Fashion Board at USC hosted it's annual Fashion Show Finale Thursday evening, decking out 701 Whaley for the event.
"There is fashion here. There's a ton of students at USC who are so talented, and you know were able to put this event together, so I think regional fashion shows are so important. We want to keep making this bigger and bigger," said Danielle Minter, president of USC's Fashion Board.
Student designer Paul Willim, a junior at USC was announced as the winner of the designer showcase.
"I wasn't even trying to win. I just wanted to be a part of and help out the Fashion Board. I was told I was runner up, then next thing I know I'm winning. It was a really humbling position for me," said Willim.
The fashion show featured looks from Columbia's top boutiques and there was also a silent auction.
