MCENTIRE JOINT NATIONAL GUARD BASE (WACH, AP) -- The South Carolina Army National Guard and the USO military support group joined forces for the helicopter delivery of a portable morale center for servicemen and women in training.
Guard spokeswoman Maj. Cindi King says the unit looks like a small shipping container.
It was delivered Thursday from McEntire Joint National Guard Base to the McCrady Training Center, using a CH-47 Chinook helicopter.
The USO donated the portable unit. It pops out to become a two-room center. It contains televisions, computers, movies and video game units for them to use.
The unit is open to any Army, Navy, Marine or Air Force service member training at the site.
