COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH / AP) -- Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting in the parking lot of a Columbia fast food restaurant that left one man dead. Police Chief Randy Scott says that at least two groups were arguing in the parking lot of a McDonald's just after 9 p.m. on Saturday when shots were fired. Scott says three people were shot.
Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says 20-year-old Steve McCoy of Elgin was killed in the shooting. An autopsy confirmed McCoy died from complications of a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities are still investigating the shooting.
Scott says there are two men that are considered persons of interest in connection with the shooting, and he hopes the public can help the department identify them.
According to Scott, officers would like to talk to the men who may have more information regarding the murder.
