COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH)-- A man accused of posing as an Uber driver and targeting women near USC's campus was in a Florida courtroom Monday morning and will remain in jail.

Last week, Farris Kaloti was arrested in the Miami area on a traffic violation, just days after police say he assaulted two women in Columbia and held them in his car against their will.

Once officers looked up his information they learned Kaloti had active warrants, one in Miami and another from South Carolina.

In South Carolina, Kaloti is charged with both assault and battery and kidnapping.

The two women told police that he pushed and pull one of the women when she attempted to get out of the car.

Security was heightened around campus after the victims told police what had happened to them.

A confused Kaloti stood before a judge and asked several questions about why he was being arrested. In one part of the video, he told the judge that he should not be in jail and that the jail has no respect for him and his vegan diet.
