COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Vice President Joe Biden is visiting South Carolina to address a gathering of state Democrats.
The vice president will be in Columbia on Friday to give remarks at the annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner.
During presidential elections, state party galas such as this one are frequent stops for candidates. South Carolina traditionally holds one of the first primaries of the season, Biden has not ruled out a presidential run in 2016.
The event is part of the state Democratic Party's annual convention. Party organizers say Biden is also expected to make an appearance at U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn's annual fish fry at Carolina Field House in Columbia.
