COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Here's a look at some of the stories we're working on for tonight.
A Cayce man has pleaded guilty to cutting off a man's hand in part of an insurance fraud scheme. Gerald Hardin told a judge he used a pole saw to cut off the hand of a mentally disabled man in Sumter County back in 2008. Federal prosecutors say another man filed insurance claims based on the injury and collected more than $670,000. In exchange, Hardin says that man loaned him money. Hardin faces up to five years in prison when he's later sentenced.
The search continues for a missing Columbia teenager. 15-year-old Gabrielle Swainson was last seen by her mother over the weekend at their Northeast Columbia home. Richland County deputies are investigating the teen's disappearance. They're knocking on neighborhood doors asking for information. If you know where Swainson is, call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
Columbia City Council is considering naming a street near Carolina Stadium after former USC baseball coach Ray Tanner. Council will discuss the proposal at tonight's meeting.
