COLUMBIA, SC (WACH)- Have you ever wondered what the shark at the State Museum is called? If not, there's a reason. It doesn't have a name.
The giant shark replica has been at the State Museum for 25 years, and for the museum's 25th anniversary, the museum wants your help in giving the shark a name.
The museum partnered with the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind. Students there picked 10 finalists.
Museum volunteers and staff narrowed the list to five names, including Carolina, Finn, Meg, Shellie and Stormy, no movie fans "Jaws" did not make the list.
You have until October 21 to vote for your favorite.
The museum is now looking for help from the public to help narrow down the list to one, which will be announced on Saturday October 26, at the State Museum's 25th anniversary celebration.
