West Columbia teen faces attempted murder charge
WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) —
A West Columbia teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a physical altercation Friday evening.
According to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department, Jaylen Wiggins, 17, argued with an unidentified person inside a home on Villas Court. The argument turned physical when Wiggins pulled out a silver pocket knife.
Wiggins stabbed the victim three times in the head area. The injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
In addition to attempted murder, Wiggins was also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Wiggins was denied bond on Saturday. He is currently held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
