COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect until 9:00 Wednesday morning.
An area of low pressure will form along a stalled front off the South Carolina coast on Tuesday.
The track of the low will depend on how much wintry precipitation we will see.
The way it looks now, everyone in the Midlands has a chance of seeing "something."
An arctic front has pushed through South Carolina bringing the cold air needed.
When the moisture arrives, we expect it to start as light rain changing over to a wintry mix by mid-afternoon before temperatures fall below freezing, likely by 3:00 Tuesday afternoon.
By 9:00 Tuesday night we`ll see all precip change to snow.
It should be noted that some forecast models have more snow, and some have less.
The freezing rain/sleet should cause travel troubles, especially in the eastern Midlands. Now is the time to review your winter weather preparedness plan.
