WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for Midlands counties

Columbia (WACH/NWS) -- A major winter weather event is setting up for the Midlands beginning late Tuesday through early Thursday.

While parts of the Upstate into the northern Midlands will see decent snow totals, sleet and freezing rain are the primary threats.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for Fairfield, Kershaw, Newberry, and Saluda counties until 7:00 Tuesday night.

A WINTER STORM WARNING will go into effect at 7:00 Tuesday night for all of the Midlands.
