Winter Weather Wednesday Morning

Snow.png

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) -- A cold front approaching from the west will bring the chance for snow Wednesday morning throughout South Carolina.

A Winter Weather Advisory has already been issued for counties in the Upstate, including Greenville and Spartanburg.

This is not expected to be a major event for us in the Midlands, but driving conditions Wednesday will be a little messy. Even when we see a little rain, traffic tends to be a mess.

The precipitation will be out of the area by late morning.

Here are our four model predictions, all seem a bit high. The NAM is the most aggressive, bringing over an inch to much of the area. Chief Meteorologist Dana Fulton is leaning towards the EURO/GFS forecast, which is still generous.

Columbia will barely reach 34 degrees Wednesday morning, making accumulation very unlikely.

In the northwest counties, including Newberry and Fairfield, plan on seeing a little dusting.
