Bradley Jr. makes cut, will start in LF for Boston on Opening Day

Former Gamecock outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. will start for the Boston Red Sox in left field on Opening Day against New York.

BOSTON (WACH)- He might be just 22-years-old, but Jackie Bradley Jr. can play the game of baseball and he has proved it by becoming the Boston Red Sox new left fielder.

Manager John Farrell broke the news to Bradley on a flight to New York Saturday night that he would be out there on opening day when Boston faces arch rival New York at Yankee Stadium Monday afternoon.

The former Gamecock outfielder made it difficult for Boston's front office to send him back to the minors after batting .419 in Spring Training and playing solid defense.

First pitch between Boston and New York is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
