Dale, Jr. Meets Governor McMaster

Dale Earnhardt, Junior made an appearance at South Carolina Governor McMaster's mansion today to promote the Bojangles Southern 500 at Darlington that takes place on Labor Day Weekend.

While Junior has been struggling with injuries as of late, he's trying to prepare himself to be his best for the summer racing season, especially at Darlington.

Darlington is special to Earnhardt, Jr. not only because of how it honors the history of NASCAR, but also because it was a race that meant so much to his father.

"It's the Dale Earnhardt of race tracks," Earnhardt, Jr. said. "It's 'The Intimidator' of race tracks. People ask me why dad liked the place so much and I because he admired it being so similar to him. It really did intimidate drivers and, just driving by it as a kid before I ever got to race here, I was nervous."
