Darlington signs sponsor for Nationwide race

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Darlington Raceway has partnered with Sport Clips Haircuts to sponsor the track's NASCAR Nationwide Series race through 2016.

Track President Chip Wile announced the agreement Thursday. The VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 will be run Friday night, April 11.

Wile says the company has been a strong business partner and the track was glad with the three-year commitment.

The agreement means Darlington has secured sponsorship for its Sprint Cup and Nationwide races for the next three seasons. The Southern 500, sponsored by Bojangles, will take place Saturday, April 12.

Sport Clips CEO Gordon Logan says the company hoped its NASCAR support would increase awareness about Veterans of Foreign Wars' mission to support active-duty military, veterans and their families.
