Dustin Johnson Falls, Injures Himself Day Before Masters

Dustin Johnson is two shots behind the leaders at the British Open

Irmo native/Dutch Fork High alum Dustin Johnson is on a roll. The world #1 golfer has won his last three tournaments and has been preparing to win his second major at The Masters in Augusta, Georgia starting tomorrow.

However, things have taken a turn for the worst today after the world's top golfer fell and injured his back the day before the tournament begins.

Johnson's manager released the following statement regarding his status for the biggest golf tournament in the world:

"At roughly 3:00 pm today, Dustin took a serious fall on a staircase in his Augusta rental home. He landed very hard on his lower back and is now resting, although quite uncomfortably. He has been advised to remain immobile and begin a regimen of anti-inflammatory medication and icing, with the hope of being able to play tomorrow. I will refrain from commenting further until I know more about Dustin's condition."

Johnson is scheduled to tee off tomorrow at 2:03 pm with Bubba Watson and Jimmy Walker.
