Gamecock Baseball Honors Brett Williams
Before South Carolina's baseball team took to the diamond to take on Winthrop, the Gamecocks took the time to honor White Knoll's Brett Williams. Williams was a student at White Knoll and was committed to play baseball at the University of South Carolina before he passed away in January of 2017.
To honor Williams' memory, the Gamecocks had Williams' mother and father throw out the first pitch and his brother Wesley catch the first pitch before the game versus Winthrop. Wesley Williams is a catcher for Winthrop.
Gamecocks head coach Chad Holbrook then presented the family with a framed picture of what would've been Brett Williams' South Carolina jersey.
