Gamecock Seniors Leave Unforgettable Legacy

The "Sinderella" run for the South Carolina men's basketball team came to an end on Saturday as the Gamecocks fell in the Final Four to (1)Gonzaga 77-73.

But, while Gamecock nation will be disappointed with the loss, has to take their hats off to a team many never thought had a chance to be in Phoenix when this tournament started a couple of weeks ago. Many kudos has to be given to the three seniors: Sindarius Thornwell, Duane Notice, and Justin McKie, who were the natural leaders of the team, and who will surely go down as legends at the University of South Carolina.

"It's been great... It's been great," said Thornwell. "Just for us to go out the best way we can go out and that's making it to the Final Four. Everybody wants to make it to the Final Four. Some seniors don't even make it to the NCAA tournament, but we had a chance to play here and it was great."

Notice said, "The opportunity we had to get the support from Gamecock nation... it felt amazing."

"It'll be tough to take this jersey off for the last time," said Justin McKie. "But I know that I've made some relationships that will last for my life and I can be proud of that."
