Marcus Lattimore drafted by San Francisco in the fourth round

The San Francisco 49ers have drafted Marcus Lattimore with the 131st pick in the 4th round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

COLUMBIA (WACH)- After months and months of speculation, Marcus Lattimore's dream of playing in the NFL has finally come true. The San Francisco 49ers select the Gamecocks all-time touchdowns leader with the 131st overall pick in the 4th round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

The native of Duncan, SC will join Frank Gore in the Niners backfield, the man he has referenced many times during interviews as someone who has reached out to him during the rehabilitation of his knee. Gore suffered ACL tears in both knees during his college career at Miami, similar to Lattimore.

Lattimore said last week that he knows his body and can expect to be in pads in three months.

Marcus Lattimore's career totals at South Carolina:

Played in 30 games.

555 rushing attempts for 2677 yards with 38 touchdowns.

74 receptions for 767 yards with 3 touchdowns.
